Walking With The Night
Adriana Evans
2010 album from the Neo-Soul vocalist and the daughter of the great jazz singer Mary Stallings (and goddaughter to the legendary Pharoah Saunders), Adriana Evans debuted in 1997 alongside another newcomer in soul music, Erykah Badu. Blessed with a voice and style reminiscent of the late, great Minnie Ripperton, her first single, Reality, combined the vibes of Roy Ayers with hip hop realities to which her Loud label counterparts Wu-Tang, Mobb Deep and the Alkaholiks could easily relate. Her sound helped pave the way for Jill Scott, Erykah Badu and D Angelo.' according to Will Page of Straight No Chaser. In February 2010, one of the most unique, vibrant and exciting voices in contemporary soul is back with a brand new album, Walking With The Night. The album is produced by Dred Scott and is classic Adriana Evans.
Produced by Dred Scott, this is a welcome return of a modern day soul classic. 'Her sound helped pave the way for Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, and D'Angelo,' according to Will Page of the defunct Straight No Chaser magazine. (Expansion)Features the critically acclaimed single 'Weatherman' and more.
