A Retrospective

Pink Martini

Nearly 77 minutes of Pink Martini fabulousness!  Featuring a kaleidoscope of favorites studded with a bevy of unreleased gems, this album is a eyeopening exploration of 15 exciting years in the life of America's favorite little orchestra.

Yes, finally - a best of from everyone's "favourite little orchestra"! Founded in Portland, Oregon in 1994 by Harvard graduate and classically trained pianist THOMAS M. LAUDERALE, PINK MARTINI's five previous albums have collectively sold over 2 million copies worldwide and they have fans ranging from eight to eighty. Featuring twelve regular musicians, Pink Martini have gone on to perform their repertoire on stages across Europe, North America, the Middle East, Turkey, Asia as well as Australia & New Zealand at such distinguished theatres as the HOLLYWOOD BOWL, the opening of the remodelled MUSEUM OF MODERN ART in New York City, the CANNES FILM FESTIVAL, the WALT DISNEY CONCERT HALL and the opening of the 2008 SYDNEY FESTIVAL. Lauderdale describes the band's sophisticated, multilingual blend of lounge pop music best: "If the United Nations had a house band in 1962, then we'd be that band".

Including eight previously unreleased tracks, ‘A Retrospective' features material from Pink Martini's extensive back-catalogue and guests such as MICHAEL FEINSTEIN, film director GUS VAN SANT and Japanese singer SAORI YUKI
